Eagles release CB Jorrick Calvin, bring back DB Jamar Wall

Alas, poor Jorrick. We hardly knew ye. Calvin was acquired in a trade from the Arizona Cardinals last year where the Eagles gave up rookie RB Charles Scott to get him. Calvin got stuck behind all the talent and depth at CB and was a long shot to make the team anyway. The only possible value he added was as a KOR, but with the new kickoff rule that results in more touch-backs and less returns, KORs have become less valuable. Good luck to Jorrick in his future career.

It’s obviously not a big move, but it’s one that has an interesting timing, as Les Bowen points out:

In  more relevant news, the Eagles have their fourth and final preseason game tonight against the New York Jets. Kickoff is at 7:30 PM EST.
