[8/29/2011 7:50 PM EST] UPDATE – According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter,  “about $40 million” of the deal is guaranteed.

The guaranteed money on Michael Vick's brand-spanking-new, 6-year, $100 million contract is about $40 million.

For reference: Peyton Manning's was reported 5 years, $90M with $54.4M guaranteed. Tom Brady's was 5 years, $78.5M with $48.5M guaranteed.

[8/29/2011 7:59 PM EST] UPDATE – Jason La Canfora of NFL Network says that deal is not “back-loaded with filler”, and has a legitimate shot of earning $16.7 million a year. This is a huge deal.

Vick's 2011 cap figure was trimmed slightly from $16.2 million to $14.4 mil, per a league source.
